Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has today (August 16) met with Norwegian state oil firm Statoil to discuss the potential for developing the "world's first" commercial-scale floating wind farm at one of two Scottish sites.
Walney 1 is one half of a two wind farm project being developed by Danish company DONG in the Irish Sea, which is intended to have a combined capacity of 367.2MW when it becomes fully operational in 2011.
